Enel Green Power has inaugurated two solar plants in Panama. The total capacity of the two plants is 40MW.
The two plants are located in El Roble in Cocle province and Progreso in the Chiriqui region. The capacities of both plants are 13.12MW and 26.24MW respectively. Together they generated power will be 60 gigawatt-hours. The plant will have CO2 annual emission of more than 35,400 tonnes.
Jaguito features 32,130 monocrystalline PV panels, covering an area of 13 hectares, while Esperanza includes 64,440 of the same panels within an area of 40 hectares.
The private sector is demonstrating interest in incorporating renewable energy into its operations. Both photovoltaic energy projects respect the country’s ecosystem and its diversity, as well as contribute to the growth and diversification of Panama’s energy matrix.
