R Power has won 21 MWp of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Italy’s latest auction. R Power is a Polish solar developer and power producer who is working in Italy.
R Power’s winning projects will receive guaranteed support for the period of 20 years. They are all greenfield developments that will utilize trackers. By 2024, the energy producer group has to commission themselves.
Upon completion, the plants will be operated and maintained by Nomad Electric. Italy’s Gestore dei Servizi Energetici GSE SpA recently awarded only 975 MW of renewables in its seventh auction for utility-scale projects.
The total awarded capacity corresponds to just below 30% of the 3,313 MW made available.
The company said it has won nearly 700 MWp of total capacity in solar auctions in recent years.
