Goldi Solar, a global solar panel manufacturer and EPC service provider, in partnership with the Shree Ramkrishna Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF) on Monday laid the foundation stone for the town of Dudhala in southern Gujarat.
The 450 KW solar roof project will be used to power about 350 houses and public facilities such as anganwadis and gram panchayat. When completed, this will be the first village to be fully powered by solar panels on a foundation. Instead of providing financial assistance, the initiative will empower nearly 2000 people to access funding through solar systems.
Ishver Dholakiya, Founder and Managing Director, Goldi Solar said, “This program was done under the direction of Shri Govindbhai Dholakia with the vision of giving back to the community. It is a proud moment for Goldi Solar to take this initiative in empowering people with a better quality of life. We also believe that this project really captures the real spirit of PM Modi’s Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign and is taking a step towards providing 24 × 7 power to all. We thank SRKKF for giving us the opportunity to really make a difference in the lives of so many. ”
Shree Ramkrishna Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF) is the CSR arm of Shree Ramkrishna Exports, India’s leading diamond company. In addition to setting up renewable energy, the foundation will provide free wi-fi services, health care, medical infrastructure and service to Dudhala.
Commenting on the initiative, SRK Exports Founder, Shri Govindbhai Dholakia said, “SRK Exports is known for its world-class green space. In line with efforts to achieve sustainable development, I was inspired to develop a village with a 100 percent renewable energy source. Dudhala is my hometown where I was born and spent my childhood. Love for my country moved me to want to do good to the people in my neighborhood. ”
