The state-owned power generation utility Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) has taken up the installation of a pilot 35-megawatt solar PV project with a 57 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at its Kutch lignite thermal power station.
The project to be executed with the support of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) and the Energy and Petrochemicals department, Gujarat, will cost Rs 334.54 crore. L&T has been selected for the project that is the largest utility-scale BESS project in Gujarat as well as the western region.
