The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Friday started the process of installing a solar power station to deliver electricity to the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
“On the one hand, this will also help to disseminate the idea of using natural resources to the Sangat (community), and, on the other hand, significantly reducing energy costs,” says SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur.
700 kilowatt-hours of installation, installed on the roof of the Ganga river the Level of the Mast inside the facility. Seva (Volunteer Service), which is carried out by the US-based Sikh States of the Mission.
Former SGPC asked for permission from the Punjab government to install more solar power plants in the Gurdwara Satlani Sahib, near Amritsar.
“A meeting was also held with chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, but so far the permission has not been granted,” said the apex gurdwara body chief. “Once we get the permission, another plant of 2-megawatt power will be installed, and other gurdwaras could be used for this purpose as well.”
